Are 50-goal scorers a thing of the past?

http://www.authenticbruinsproshop.com/authentic-4-bobby-orr-jersey.html It all rests on Alex Ovechkin ... again. Only he can save the NHL from going without a 50-goal scorer for the first time in a full season in the salary-cap era. "Well, I wouldn't be surprised if Ovi ripped off eight goals in the last however many games they have left,'' Lightning captain Steven Stamkos said Monday over the phone, a day before Ovechkin notched No. 43 against the Ottawa Senators. "That's very true," echoed Ducks star winger Corey Perry on Wednesday, when relayed Stamkos' confidence in Ovechkin getting it done. Maybe Ovechkin will do it again. He needs seven goals in his final 10 games. One should never bet against the Russian goal machine. Mark Stone Authentic Jersey But if he doesn't, the specter of the NHL's first full season without a 50-goal scorer since 2003-04 -- aka the Dead Puck Era -- certainly underlines what everyone has known for a while: It's hard to score goals in this league. "It's definitely tougher," said Stamkos, fourth in the NHL with 34 goals. "There's a few factors. The goalies are so good. I know there's this big equipment debate, but I just think the goalies are that much better. And look at the size of them now, the quickness, they're some of the best athletes in the sport. That plays a big role in it with how technical and athletic they are, it's tough to score on them." It's precisely where Perry also began when asked for his take. "I think you have to start with the goalies," said Perry, who scored his 30th goal of the season Tuesday night against the Montreal Canadiens. "They're bigger, more athletic, they're challenging more because they can get back and get that rebound if it goes to the side; that's where I am on it." What's interesting is that neither star player is saying the goalies are the No. 1 factor in the offensive decline because they're cheating or because of the equipment; they're both complimenting the position because of its evolution. http://www.officialavalancheonline.com/Red+Matt+Duchene+Jersey Where Stamkos and Perry have a slight difference of opinion is in the proposed goalie equipment changes potentially coming for next season, with the upper body and pants area streamlined and contoured so as to create a bit more space for shooters. Tampa Bay Lightning's Ben Bishop is among the goalies supporting the league and NHLPA in the proposed changes. Just how much of an impact it would actually have though in terms of creating more goals is the debate. "I've talked to Bish briefly about that," Stamkos said of the proposed goalie equipment changes. "I think he's gone on record as saying it doesn't even look like that big of a difference." In Stamkos' view, the goalies are so good they'll adjust quickly. But Perry figures perhaps it might have enough of an impact. "It could open some more holes, the pants Tim McCarver Authentic Jersey if they're curved, it could hit their pants and go in, just little things," Perry said. "I don't know if it's going to work, but you might as well try it. I'm kind of for it."

Legendary baseball announcer Joe Garagiola Sr. dies

http://www.officialhurricanesshop.com/authentic-jiri-tlusty-jersey.html Joe Garagiola's nine-year baseball career was a modest one. His 57 years in broadcasting that followed made him one of the most popular figures in the sports world and beyond. The man Arizona Diamondbacks President Derrick Hall called "one of the biggest personalities this game has ever seen" died Wednesday. He was 90. The Diamondbacks announced Garagiola's death before their exhibition game against San Francisco, and there were murmurs of shock and sadness at the ballpark. He had been in ill health in recent years. Growing up in the Hill neighborhood of St. Louis not far from future Hall of Famer Yogi Berra, Garagiola went on to hit .257 during nine years in the majors. His highlight came early, getting a four-hit game in the 1946 World Series and helping the hometown Cardinals win the championship as a 20-year-old rookie. "Not only was I not the best catcher in the major leagues, I wasn't even the best catcher on my street," Garagiola once remarked. Matt Cullen Youth Jersey But it was after he stopped playing that his fortunes took off. He thrived as a glib baseball broadcaster and fixture on the "Today" show, leading to a nearly 30-year association with NBC. Garagiola was the play-by-play voice of baseball for NBC for nearly 30 years, beginning in 1961. He worked alongside Curt Gowdy, Tony Kubek and Bob Costas on the network's "Game of the Week." After leaving NBC in 1988, Garagiola became the commentator for the California Angels and Diamondbacks until retiring from broadcasting in 2013. He was awarded the Ford Frick Award, presented annually to a broadcaster for "major contributions to baseball," by the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991. "He had a genuine impact on the craft," Costas said. "He was among the first to bring a humorous, story-telling style to the booth." Garagiola's son, Joe Jr., is a former Kenneth Faried Kids Jersey general manager of the Diamondbacks and a current executive with Major League Baseball. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of this amazing man," his family said in a statement, "who was not just beloved to those of us in his family, but to generations of baseball fans who he impacted during his eight decades in the game." "Joe loved the game and passed that love onto family, his friends, his teammates, his listeners and everyone he came across as a player and broadcaster. His impact on the game, both on and off the field, will forever be felt." Commissioner Rob Manfred said, "All of us at Major League Baseball are deeply saddened by the loss of Joe Garagiola. http://www.officialathleticsshop.com/authentic-2-tony-phillips-jersey.html "Joe began [an] illustrious career as a baseball player, but it wasn't long before everyone knew that this unique individual would combine his multi-talented media skills and wonderful personality to make a mark off the field as well."

Ranking the options the Jets could pursue

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- You may have heard: The New York Brock Osweiler Kids Jersey Jets have a serious quarterback issue. Ryan Fitzpatrick is unsigned, the two sides are far apart and the team, preparing for life without Fitzpatrick, has formulated Plan B, C and D, according to coach Todd Bowles. He declined to reveal his fallback options, except to say Geno Smith will be in the mix. The Jets can't go into the season with Smith, Bryce Petty and a rookie, so they'd almost certainly add a veteran in the coming weeks. Which one? Based on intel gathered at the NFL owners meetings, which concluded Wednesday, here's a ranking of the options: 1. Josh McCown, Cleveland Browns: New coach Hue Jackson is rebuilding the quarterback position, and it sounds as if he wants to go with a yet-to-be-acquired veteran and a rookie. They can draft their quarterback of the future, Carson Wentz or Jared Goff, with the No. 2 overall pick. McCown, due to make $4.4 million, is the likely odd man out. The Jets, who met with McCown last February before trading for Fitzpatrick, have interest. They'd rather wait until he's released, which seems inevitable, but that could be a few more weeks. The 36-year-old McCown is 18-39 as a starter. 2. Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers: One coach at Derrick Coleman Youth Jersey the meetings predicted Kaepernick will end up with the Jets. That would require a trade because it sounds as if new coach Chip Kelly has no intention of cutting Kaepernick, whose $11.9 million salary becomes guaranteed on April 1. Of course, it could be posturing. The 49ers are reportedly seeking a second-round pick, which is more than the Jets -- or any other team -- are willing to pay at this time. The Jets would rather hold on to their picks since they have only six. The Browns and Denver Broncos also are interested. 3. Robert Griffin III, free agent: The Jets have downplayed their interest, characterizing their recent meeting with RG III as a "meet and greet." Could that change? Sure, if they get desperate. They'd be buying Benny Cunningham Nike Jersey risk and baggage, but Griffin still has some upside -- that is, if you believe his fantastic rookie year in 2012 wasn't a fluke. He has lost 15 of his past 20 starts. He also met with the Browns. 4. Mike Glennon, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston is the man in Tampa, so the Bucs could look to trade Glennon before he becomes a free agent after the season. Bucs officials downplayed the possibility of a trade, but that could change if they get the right offer. Glennon rode the bench last season, but he showed some potential in 2013 and 2014, throwing 29 touchdowns against only 15 interceptions. 5. Brian Hoyer, Houston Texans: The Jets http://www.nflcowboysofficial.com/Authentic-Dez-Bryant-Jersey showed interest last March before dealing for Fitzpatrick. The Texans are committed to the recently signed Brock Osweiler, so Hoyer ($4 million salary) figures to be a goner. It's hard to imagine the Jets trading for Hoyer, so they'd probably wait until he's released. He was brutal in last season's playoff loss, but he put up respectable numbers during the season.

Ben Bishop leads rising goalies, injuries take a toll for others

In the final stretch of the season, goaltenders Erik Karlsson Kids Jersey are starting to draw the most focus around the league. Thus, in this week’s edition of Hot and Not, masked men find themselves both trending up and trending down. Goaltending will be key for those teams battling for playoff positions. In the Eastern Conference, the Tampa Bay Lightning are in second place in the Atlantic Division and have an important stretch of games coming up, while the Philadelphia Flyers received a bit of bad injury news. In the Western Conference, the San Jose Sharks, Dallas Stars and Los Angeles Kings have all gotten production between the pipes. EASTERN CONFERENCE A step up Ben Bishop, Tampa Bay Lightning: The Chris Kelly Womens Jersey veteran netminder had been struggling of late, but he picked up an important 2-0 shutout victory against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday. He made 32 saves for his fifth shutout of the season, matching his single-season high from 2013-14. He also reached the 30-win plateau for the third consecutive season. Tampa opens a six-game homestand on Tuesday against the Detroit Red Wings. Sidney Crosby, Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins are on a six-game winning streak and they're receiving contributions throughout the lineup. However, the captain has been on an offensive tear of late, posting six goals and 14 assists during a 12-game points streak. Since Pittsburgh made a coaching change on Dec. 12, Crosby has 25 goals and 32 assists. Wayne Simmonds, Philadelphia Flyers: The veteran forward has one goal and two assists in the past five games to help the surging Flyers remain in playoff hunt. Philly is three points out of the second wild-card spot in the East. Simmonds had eight shots in last week's victory over the Red Wings. Erik Karlsson, Ottawa Senators: The defenseman has two goals and three assists in his past five games. Ottawa is seven points out of the wild-card playoff picture in the East. A step back Alex Galchenyuk, Montreal Canadiens: The 22-year-old forward Roy Halladay Kids Jersey went through an impressive stretch recently with eight goals and one assist in five games, but his offensive prowess cooled off last week. He has one goal and one assist in the past five games, but he’s a minus-8 during that span. Michal Neuvirth, Philadelphia Flyers: At this time of the season, it’s not always about performance when it comes to this category, but sometimes whether or not a player can remain on the ice at a critical point of the schedule. Neuvirth will miss three weeks with a lower-body injury. He finishes the regular season with a 17-8-4 record, including a 2.28 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage in 31 games. Michael Frolik, Calgary Flames: Registered a pair of three-point games last week. He scored a hat trick during Monday’s victory over the St. Louis Blues, then followed with one goal and two assists en route to a 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday. The Avalanche acquired him at the trade deadline from the Coyotes. Kari Lehtonen, Dallas Stars: The goaltender http://www.officialbullsonlineshop.com/Authentic-Pau-Gasol-Jersey made 27 saves en route to a 3-0 win over the New York Islanders on Saturday. It was his 34th career shutout and improved his record to 21-9-2 this season. Dallas has earned points in seven of its past eight games (5-1-2). He also has a 2.85 goals-against average, a .904 save percentage and two shutouts this season.

Robert Kraft wrote Roger Goodell a letter

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- New England Patriots http://www.footballcowboysprostore.com/Orlando-Scandrick-Jersey owner Robert Kraft said Monday that he wrote a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell over a month ago requesting that the league reinstate the draft picks stripped as part of the Deflategate penalties, as well as the four-game suspension of quarterback Tom Brady, but he didn't sound optimistic it would spark a change. Kraft said his letter was in response to Goodell's remarks that if any new facts were learned, Goodell would reconsider the punishment of a 2016 first-round pick, 2017 fourth-round pick, the four-game suspension of Brady and a $1 million fine. "I personally believe that when the league made their decision, they did not factor in the Ideal Gas Law. They admitted that publicly. They had a full year of being able to observe Tom Brady play with all the rules of whatever the NFL was, and make any judgments there," Kraft told reporters at the Boca Raton Resort. "We have laid it out pretty straightforward. And now it's up for them to decide." Asked if Goodell responded to Tim Wright Authentic Jersey the letter, Kraft, who had fielded multiple questions on the topic, said he was moving on. When asked if there was a legal option for him to pursue against the NFL, Kraft said owners form a partnership and agree to abide by certain rules. In the 13-minute session with reporters, Kraft was also asked if he was disappointed that the NFL didn't share PSI readings from 2015 as part of the league's new football testing procedures. "They did their own testing, they have results, and for whatever reason, they haven't shared them with any of us. We actually requested at the beginning of the season that they test every game throughout the league and do that, but they chose to do it their way," he responded, adding that he doesn't sense momentum among his fellow owners to overturn the penalties. "I wish they would, because they could be http://www.officialcoltsnflstore.com/jerrell-freeman-jersey_c-409.html in a similar position," he said, later adding that he "prays and desires" that the NFL will overturn the penalties.

Nash, Lundqvist lead Rangers to 4-2 win over Panthers

NEW YORK -- Not only did the New York Rangers bounce http://www.authenticrangersshop.com/authentic-99-wayne-gretzky-jersey.html back from one of their worst games this season, Rick Nash finally found his scoring touch after returning from a leg injury that sidelined him for almost seven weeks. Nash scored his first goal since getting back into the lineup March 12, and Henrik Lundqvist made 25 saves in leading the Rangers to a 4-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Monday night. "It's no secret: It's been a grind the first five games after a long time away," said Nash, who had 42 goals last season. "Each game I'm just trying to do something to help the team and try to fit in." Nash, who went hard to the net a couple Jabari Brown Authentic Jersey of times against the Panthers, scored his 13th of the season at 11:14 of the third period to give New York a 3-1 lead. It came less than a minute after Lundqvist stopped a breakaway by Jussi Jokinen to preserve the Rangers' lead. "After I made that save, we got the puck up there and I was hoping for Nash to get one," Lundqvist said. "It played in perfectly. Nashie has worked so hard for a long time. I think that goal meant a lot to him. It was a big goal for the team as well." New York coach Alain Vigneault said the Rangers have to be patient with Nash. "That injury kept him from doing anything as far as weight-bearing for close to six weeks," Vigneault said. "He's probably still not fully recovered. He's only had one real team practice. I thought tonight he took pucks to the net. That was a big-time goal at the right moment. There's no doubt in my mind that his play is on the right track." Viktor Stalberg, Mats Zuccarello and Tanner Chris Young Youth Jersey Glass also scored for the Rangers, who moved two points ahead of idle Pittsburgh for second place in the Metropolitan Division. New York has nine games left in the regular season, one more than the Penguins, winners of six straight. Vincent Trocheck and Jiri Hudler scored for the Panthers, who lost their second in a row. The Atlantic Division leaders are two points in front of Tampa Bay with nine games to go, one fewer than the Lightning have left. "It was a bad night," Panthers coach Gerard Gallant said. "We can't show up and play 15 minutes, and that's all we played tonight. The Rangers dominated the first two periods and there is no excuse for that." Al Montoya stopped 28 shots for Florida, which had a goal waved off by the officials early in the third period. Gallant said he disagreed with the call but there was nothing that could be done. It was a bounce-back game for http://www.authenticyankeesshop.com/authentic-9-roger-maris-jersey.html the Rangers, who gave up a season-high 52 shots and were totally embarrassed in a 4-1 loss at San Jose on Saturday. "We were confident tonight," Glass said. "We knew we had to come back with a big win. I think we played hard all night. It wasn't perfect. No game is. I thought we battled hard."

Adam LaRoche puts family first in walking away

CHICAGO -- One thing not up for debate http://www.authentictwinsshop.com/authentic-8-kurt-suzuki-jersey.html during a wild two days for the Chicago White Sox is the quality of the kid at the center of a saga that erupted between the team and veteran slugger Adam LaRoche. Cases can be made for whether or not a 14-year-old’s presence in a Major League Baseball clubhouse should be unlimited, with restrictions, or not allowed at all. There is no evidence, however, that LaRoche’s son, Drake, an aspiring third-generation baseball player, is anything but a respectful, appropriately confident, well-liked kid who was never anything but a delight to be around. So why all the fuss? Why would the White Sox ask that LaRoche curtail the clubhouse visits by his son? And why would a veteran of 12 major league seasons choose the forfeiture of a $13 million salary as a way to make a stand? Although the clubhouse is typically Paul Molitor Authentic Jersey the domain of the players and manager, it was White Sox executive vice president Kenny Williams who made the request of LaRoche to reduce his son’s visits by half. How much did that play a role in what appears to be LaRoche’s decision to walk away with a year on his contract rather than limit his son’s presence? Drake LaRoche, who is believed to participate in a combination of home schooling as well as traditional education, has been in White Sox camp in Arizona this spring every day that his dad has been there, according to statements Williams made to multiple outlets. So Williams made a request, and it turned out to be a not-so-simple one. Williams reportedly told LaRoche that even half the visits by his son were too many, in his opinion, but he was willing to meet somewhere in the middle. Two days later, LaRoche apparently tendered his resignation, leaving a small fortune on the table. In LaRoche’s defense, he also grew up as a kid in major league clubhouses. His father, Dave LaRoche, was a pitcher for 14 seasons, most notably six with the California Angels. So he knew from firsthand experience how valuable time in a major league clubhouse can be. According to sources, LaRoche had asked after signing with the White Sox last winter if Drake could have clubhouse access, and that request was granted by White Sox manager Robin Ventura. Drake not only had his own uniform and spring training locker last year, but also had a locker in the White Sox clubhouse during the regular season. At no point did Drake appear to be a Walt Weiss Kids Jersey distraction last season, and was in fact a welcome addition to the group. He played video games with players pregame, shagged balls during batting practice and was not one to draw attention to himself in the clubhouse, respecting the players’ space. It is not known if management asked Ventura to change the access policy for LaRoche and his son. Williams, though, felt a change was in order. In the defense of the front office, unlimited clubhouse for a family member is unprecedented. Visitors are frequent, even repeat visits from individuals, but unlimited visits are rare, if not unheard of. Williams clearly felt that the team was put in position to clarify some kind of clubhouse policy. Williams said that family members were not being banned from visiting, or even participating in workouts; he just requested that it be dialed back some in the case of the LaRoche family. Instead of compromise, Williams’ request was met with the equivalent of "I’m taking my ball and going home." Always a good teammate, forever accountable, LaRoche obviously felt this was an area where he would not bend. The facts are that LaRoche did struggle http://www.officialnuggetsshop.com/authentic-23-jusuf-nurkic-jersey.html offensively last year, his first with the White Sox, and he is dealing with more issues this year as back spasms have reduced his spring to a handful of games. There also were indications that the current roster construction would seriously limit his plate appearances. In that respect, perhaps the request to limit his son’s visits was the final straw for the 36-year-old.

Browns release Karlos Dansby, Dwayne Bowe

The Cleveland Browns released linebacker http://www.officialauthenticseahawks.com/SUPER-BOWL-BRYAN-WALTERS-JERSEY Karlos Dansby and veteran wide receiver Dwayne Bowe on Wednesday. "We want to thank Karlos for his service to the Cleveland Browns during the past two seasons," Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown said in a statement. "He was a dedicated, hard-working leader of our defense and we wish him the best as he continues his career." The Browns informed Dansby of the pending move shortly after they announced the signing of Demario Davis as a free agent from the Jets. "They explained it to me when they called," Dansby said before his release was announced. "It's a rebuilding process. I'm cool with that decision. I'm just glad they gave me the opportunity to go see what else is out there for me." The Browns' leading tackler last Kellen Clemens Womens Jersey season, Dansby was one of the first big-money free agents signed by the team and former general manager Ray Farmer. He signed a four-year, $24 million deal on the first day of free agency in 2014. He was due to make $5 million in each of the next two seasons. The Browns save $3.5 million in cap space by releasing him but will carry a $3 million cap cost for the move. "It's a rebuilding process," Dansby said. "Every team goes through it. I just got caught in the wave before it finished. I hate that, but it's part of the game." Bowe became the poster child for the dysfunction of the team in 2015. One of the worst free-agent signings in team history, he was given a two-year, $12.5 million deal a year ago after he was released by Kansas City. The Browns guaranteed $9 million of that http://www.nfllionsofficials.com/Laadrian-Waddle-Jersey contract, and for that money they got five receptions for 53 yards from him last season. With the guaranteed money he received, Bowe made $1.8 million per reception, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Bowe was signed because Farmer knew him in Kansas City. But the coaching staff had Bowe active for only seven games, and he started none. Dansby played well for the Browns. He had 93 tackles in 2014 despite missing four games with a knee injury. In 2015, he had a team-leading 108 tackles while adding the responsibility of covering tight ends. He returned two interceptions for touchdowns last season, when he also led the Browns in tackles for loss, interceptions and defensive touchdowns. He was also second in passes defensed. Dansby is one interception away from being the fifth linebacker in NFL history to have 40 sacks and 20 interceptions. He said he expects to find a Brad Smith Womens Jersey new home quickly. "I know a lot of teams are licking their chops right now," Dansby said. "A lot of teams are looking for linebackers right now. One of the best guys to ever play the game is on the market. That's the numbers saying it. Not me saying it, it's just the numbers."

David Dahl, who lost spleen after OF collision

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Outfielder David Dahl, a rising Martin Maldonado Kids Jersey star in the Colorado Rockies' chain, peppers his conversations with the word "sir" when addressing authority figures. It's a courtly and respectful gesture that reflects his Alabama upbringing and validates the notion that he was raised properly. Dahl's dark beard conceals a countenance that scouts like to refer to as "the good face," and his abundance of tools gives the Rockies hope he's one of several young players who can rescue the organization from its altitude-enhanced haze in a competitive National League West. It seems everyone in the Colorado organization is convinced a big future awaits Dahl. In the short term, projections about his WAR or the number of All-Star teams he might make are dwarfed by a sense of gratitude that he's still here. On May 28 last season, while playing center Kent Hrbek Youth Jersey field for the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats in Connecticut, Dahl was involved in a serious collision at New Britain Stadium. He endured some harrowing moments before his arrival at Hartford Hospital, where emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding yielded to a difficult decision. Dahl had sustained a Grade 4 laceration of his spleen (with a Grade 5 being the most severe), and he faced two choices: 1) Wait several months for the spleen to heal, miss most or all of the 2015 season and run the risk of suffering a recurrence of the injury on something as innocuous as a dive back into first base; or 2) consent to having the organ removed, a decision that would expedite the rehab process while possibly complicating his life down the road. Dahl and his family chose the second option, and three days after the collision, surgeons removed the organ via a procedure known as a splenectomy. Dahl was back on the field by mid-July, and he arrived in Arizona this spring with aspirations of reaching the majors sometime this season. Dahl's strong constitution is evident in his http://www.authenticbrewersshop.com/authentic-22-matt-garza-jersey.html baseball-viewing habits. The video of the collision is readily available online, and he hasn't shied away from dissecting it. "I've watched it a good bit," he says. "I look at it and I think, 'Maybe I should have caught it a little earlier.' I got kneed in the perfect spot where it lacerated my spleen, which is kind of crazy. The doctor actually told me at the hospital, 'You were lucky to get here. People can bleed out in the ambulance.' There's a chance I could have bled out if we didn't get there in time. It's pretty scary." The experience doubled as a medical primer and a lesson in the fragility of a career, compressed into the tail end of a seemingly innocuous fly ball. "If you would have told me at the beginning of the year, 'You ruptured your spleen,' I would have been like, 'What's a spleen?"' Dahl says. The video of the collision packs an emotional wallop in 1 minute, 59 seconds of grainy footage. The play begins with Dahl stationed a few steps deeper than usual because the wind is blowing out toward center field. Altoona's Stetson Allie hits a blooper to center, and as Dahl races in, shortstop Trevor Story charges in from one side and second baseman Juan Ciriaco converges from the other in the classic "Bermuda Triangle" dynamic. Both Dahl and Ciriaco stake their claim to the ball by yelling "I got it!" As Dahl slides to make the catch, Story peels off and takes a slight hop before coming to a halt. But it's too late for Ciriaco, whose knee collides with Dahl's torso and then his head, spinning him around and sending him sprawling to the turf. As Dahl lies motionless on the outfield http://www.officialsenatorsstore.com/authentic-16-clarke-macarthur-jersey.html grass, the ball rolls free. And everyone in the vicinity knows it's bad. "I remember hearing a big thud," Story says. "I knew Ciri caught him pretty flush in the chest area with his knee. David was just lying there, and you could tell he was hurt. I knew it was serious right away."

Redskins' new stadium might have a moat

Apparently, it'll be a good idea to bring a http://www.officialeaglesnflauthentics.com/brandon-boykin-jersey_c-430.html kayak to a Washington Redskins game whenever their new stadium opens. Based on preliminary designs, there will be a moat circling the stadium -- for aesthetic purposes, of course, not as a possible place of punishment (filled with alligators) for coaches who lose games. The Redskins won't be moving for another decade but have long been scouting future sites -- and they've been working with the Bjarke Ingels Group, a Danish company that has never designed a sports stadium. And the design the group came up with here has a futuristic look to it -- and it's trying to incorporate a feel that allows the site to be used for more than just games. That means having parks where fans can tailgate -- and then cross a bridge over the moat to get inside the stadium. According to the Redskins' website, the moat can be used "for kayakers, along with parks and bridges for tailgaters and fans." Of course, a moat might not be the best thing to have around fans, considering what often happens at tailgate parties before games. It would be the only stadium surrounded Byron Maxwell Authentic Jersey by a moat; however, kayakers can paddle up the bay behind the right-field stands at the San Francisco Giants' AT&T Park. The rest of the oval-shaped and open-air stadium concept isn't fancy: The sides rise up higher than the end zone seats, and there will be huge scoreboards on either end. The Ingels group designed Google's headquarters. The desire in Washington is to create a place for tailgating as much as anything. Architect Bjarke Ingels told CBS' "60 Minutes" that, “When I LaAdrian Waddle Authentic Jersey started studying architecture, people would say, you know, 'Can you tell me why all modern buildings are so boring?'... People had this idea that in the good old days, architecture had ... ornament and little towers and spires and gargoyles, and today, it just becomes very practical. Tailgating becomes a picnic in the park." The Redskins are still searching for sites http://www.chargersshopnflofficial.com/SUPER-BOWL-KEENAN-ALLEN-JERSEY in Virginia (where they train), Washington (where they used to play) and Maryland (where they currently play). They began play at FedEx Field in 1997, and their lease isn't up until 2027.
