Absurd Colts play proves Patriots still winning mind game
INDIANAPOLIS -- In the solitude of night, all alone Randy Gregory Youth Jersey with his thoughts, Chuck Pagano had to be dreaming up heroic scenarios for his big moment in the Sunday night lights. No, he was not only going to beat Bill Belichick. Pagano was going to beat Bill Belichick at his own game. The coach of the Indianapolis Colts was going to outsmart the coach of the New England Patriots, the potential consequences be damned. If a completely unnecessary onside kick in the second quarter didn't work -- in fact, it set up a Patriots touchdown -- then Pagano would run a fourth-down play near the end of the third quarter that even Belichick's mad scientist of an aide, Ernie Adams, couldn't cook up in his underground lab. Maybe the same team baffled by Belichick's trick formations in last year's playoffs, the Baltimore Ravens, lent this play to the Colts as eagerly as they allegedly alerted them to the possibility the Patriots were deflating footballs. Or maybe Pagano and his staff came up with this baby on their own. Either way, the play turned out to be http://www.nflcowboysofficial.com/Authentic-Byron-Jones-Jersey funnier than Belichick's affection for "My Cousin Vinny"; it was a full-season blooper reel all its own. If the Patriots did take the air out of the balls before their 45-7 destruction of the Colts in the AFC Championship Game, all Pagano did in this 34-27 defeat was take the air out of his own building. You've likely seen the replay a half-dozen times by now. In a fourth-and-3 punting situation, the Colts sent nine players wide right and had backup receiver Griff Whalen isolated on the left side with a safety, Colt Anderson. Of course, the Patriots acted as if they'd spent all day Friday and Saturday preparing for this formation. They had two defenders on top of Whalen, the de facto center, and Anderson, the de facto quarterback, with a third nearby and a fourth sliding over to help. Whalen snapped the ball anyway. On cue, Anderson was immediately tackled for a loss by Brandon Bolden with a flag already on the field. To punctuate the absurdity of it all, Pagano didn't have enough of his "decoys" on the right side up on the line of scrimmage. The Colts would've lost the first down even if the trick play succeeded, and Belichick never looked happier to tell a ref he was declining a penalty. Six plays later, Tom Brady hit LeGarrette Blount for an 11-yard touchdown pass and a most demoralizing two-score lead. "I take full responsibility http://www.nflcowboysofficial.com for that," Pagano said, as if he had any other choice. "We expected this to be a gadget game in the kicking game," Belichick said. The winning coach had watched Colts punter Pat McAfee run for 18 yards on a fake against the Titans, so he expected a curveball or two.
How Devon Still's 'Leah Strong' eye black could help Cam Heyward's appeal
The NFL on Tuesday will hear Pittsburgh Philip Rivers Kids Jersey Steelers defensive end's Cameron Heyward's appeal of a $5,787 fine for wearing eye black honoring his father, Craig ‘Ironhead’ Heyward, and during that call Heyward’s camp will point out an important precedent set last season. Former Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still, whose daughter Leah was an inspiration in her battle with Stage 4 neuroblastoma, wore ‘Leah Strong’ on his eye black multiple times last season. He did not receive a fine for the practice. Heyward has consulted Still on the matter. Heyward, meanwhile, could incur a http://www.chargersshopnfl.com/Authentic-Jacoby-Jones-Jersey second fine of $11,576 for wearing “IRON” and “HEAD” under his eyes in back-to-back games. Craig Heyward, a former NFL fullback, battled cancer before his death in 2006. Heyward said he’s worn the eye black in the past and plans to continue wearing it. He hopes the league understands, and on Monday he told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette he’d like the chance to explain his reasoning to commissioner Roger Goodell. "I care about this league, but I also http://www.chargersshopnfl.com care about people who are struggling,” Heyward told the outlet Monday. “I understand the struggles they go through. My dad went through that struggle, and I saw it every day."
Emmanuel Mudiay headlines list of 10 NBA rookies to watch
OAKLAND, Calif. – The big news Emmanuel Mudiay Wilt Chamberlain Gold Jersey received nearly two months ago dramatically changed his rookie season with the Denver Nuggets before it even started. Nuggets general manager Tim Connelly called Mudiay on July 20 to tell him the team was trading talented, yet troubled, point guard Ty Lawson to the Houston Rockets. With that move, Mudiay, the seventh pick in this year's NBA draft, was thrust into a starting role for Denver. "Ty's a great player," Mudiay said. "But for the organization to show confidence to bring me in is more of a confidence builder for me." Mudiay is only 19, but he isn't the typical Bernie Williams Womens Jersey teenage rookie. After being denied eligibility to play at SMU by the NCAA, Mudiay played in China last season. He averaged 18 points, 5.9 assists and 6.3 rebounds in 12 games with Guangdong while playing against several former NBA players like Stephon Marbury. Mudiay has also averaged 15 points, 5.4 assists and 4.8 turnovers in five preseason games starting for the Nuggets. "The last two years have been rocky for [the Nuggets]," Mudiay said. "But I'm going to just come in here and do the best I can to change that. I'm trying to win. When you win, everything is definitely better. "Being a rookie, being a high pick, you're kind of thrown into a situation where you have to develop. The team will develop as well." Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried likes what he sees overall from Mudiay so far. "From the first two games to now, he has really progressed as a point guard," Faried said. "He had turnovers the first two preseason games, but now he's confident. We're telling him to stay confident and stay on attack mode and he's doing just that." Mudiay has also sought advice Los Angeles Carl Soderberg Kids Jersey Clippers guard Chris Paul and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry. Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, who previously starred for the Nuggets, gave him advice about the NBA and living in Denver. Mudiay also has spent time talking to former Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups in Denver. "If you really want to be on that level, you really need to seek out who is out there and who has done it," Mudiay said. One NBA scout told Yahoo Sports he expects Mudiay to initially struggle, but he could grow into a star. The Nuggets have never had an NBA Rookie of the Year. "From what I've seen, he's turnover prone in traffic," the NBA scout said. "With him having the keys to the car, they're going to have to deal with his mistakes. He needs to improve his shot, but it's not broken where he won't be able to shoot. When he really learns how to play and the other guys learn how to play with him, he could be special." Mudiay believes the 2015 NBA rookie http://www.authenticrangersshop.com/authentic-20-chris-kreider-jersey.html class will be "one of the best classes in a long time." Here's nine other rookies worth watching this season: Karl-Anthony Towns, Minnesota Timberwolves, F/C, No. 1 overall pick Scout's view: "I like him. He's going to do well. I love his ability to shoot the ball [and] passing, and he learns. He has a high basketball IQ. He's not on a good team, but he will play well for them."
The Revenge Game played out just fine for New England.
There was a moment, a brief one, in Sunday Anthony McCoy Authentic Jersey night's 34-27 New England victory over the Indianapolis Colts, when you thought the Colts might reverse the narrative and disrupt all the expectations of a Patriot blitzkrieg. Indianapolis spent the first half looking unlike the lost, beleaguered team it has been all season, and the Patriots early on appeared ... well, heck, let's just say "deflated." Ah, "deflated." This was billed as a chance for the Patriots to get even with the team that snitched on them all those months ago, the team that "brought to the NFL's attention" the possibility that some of the footballs the Patriots supplied in last season's AFC championship game might not have been properly inflated ... and, well, you know what happened from there. Fines, lost draft picks, suspensions, overturned suspensions, destroyed cell phones ... an unending parade of nonsensical horrors, all spawned from that fateful 45-7 thumping that New England put on Indianapolis back in January. This year's Patriots may not be the equal of the 2007 would-be undefeated team; it might just be better. Combine talent and Bill Belichick's football genius with a sense of purpose and victimhood, and you're looking at a team that will show about as much conscience shredding the rest of the league as you would cracking an egg. The Patriots were 4-0 barreling into Sunday night's game, but conventional wisdom held that those four games were but prelude, that this was the game in which New England would rain vengeance upon Indy. Early on, Indianapolis didn't play its role. Luck drove the Colts 89 yards for a touchdown to open the game, the first sign that this Colts team had every bit as much to play for as New England. The teams traded the lead back and forth for the next couple of quarters, most notably when the Colts' Mike Adams returned a tipped Brady pass for a touchdown. Indianapolis actually led 21-20 at the Tyrunn Walker Womens Jersey half, but that didn't hold up long. New England scored on its opening possession of the second half and never trailed agian. Late in the third quarter, the game turned for good. The Patriots were ahead by only six when the Colts made the inexplicable decision to call some kind of botched swinging-gate fake-punt play. New England recovered the ball in Indy territory, and six plays later went up by two touchdowns. A late Colts touchdown served to only save face (and cover the spread), not scare New England. Brady, who had insisted all along that this game was just like every other one, put up a routine 23-of-37 for 311 yards, three touchdowns, and that interception. Luck had his best game of the season, 30-of-50 for 312 yards and three touchdowns. After the game, both LeGarrette Blount http://www.chargersshopnfl.com/Authentic-Nick-Novak-Jersey and Chandler Jones repeated Belichick's mantra that this game was no more important than any other. But Jones dropped a hint when he followed "We're on to the Jets" with a grin and a wink. If you believe New England treated this was just another game, we've got a great fake-punt play to run by you. So there you go. Another opponent vanquished, another entry on the to-do list marked out. New England is headed straight toward a date with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on the Super Bowl victors' stage, and you know that's exactly how they want it.
No tension between Bills, Watkins over comments
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills quarterback Connor Barth Womens Jersey EJ Manuel said he doesn't believe Sammy Watkins caused harm when he said this week that he was frustrated with his lack of targets. "Sammy's a great player, and obviously he wants to help us win. I don't think he meant anything negative by it," Manuel said Friday. "That's what I like to hear. I think as quarterbacks, we like to hear our receiver is hungry and wants to make plays." Bills coach Rex Ryan also wasn't surprised by Watkins' comments. "This just in: He's just like every other wideout," Ryan said. "[Chris] Hogan said the same darn thing. 'Just give me the ball; give me the ball; give me the ball.' " Watkins told The Buffalo News that he wanted at least 10 targets per game and that his agent contacted the Bills about how they were "making me look bad and you're making yourself look bad" after drafting him fourth overall in 2014. Ryan said he hadn't spoken with Watkins' agent. "But look, we all get it. The guy is a http://www.officialbroncosnflauthentic.com/WOMENS_YOUTH_CONNOR_BARTH_JERSEY.html tremendous talent," Ryan said. "He's frustrated because he hadn't played. He's been out. So yeah, he's hungry. He wants to be out there, wants to be out with his teammates and contribute. I think that's the big thing. Get him the ball, that's fine, but I'd rather him get it on the field than out on the sideline." Manuel shares Watkins' agent and could start Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals if quarterback Tyrod Taylor (questionable, knee) can't play. In the first two games of the season, Watkins was targeted 10 times by Taylor, tied for the most on the team. Asked whether there was a danger in trying to Denzel Perryman Womens Jersey force the ball too much to Watkins, Manuel responded: "There's not, because there's talent all over our offense. You look at us, on paper, we have one of the better offenses skill-wise. You look at our running backs, our tight ends and our receivers -- I think all of those guys are hungry for it, so it is what it is."
LeSean McCoy jersey expected to play as Bills get ready
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- After missing the past two Patrick Robinson Authentic Jersey games with a left hamstring injury, Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is expected to play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. McCoy is listed as probable on the Bills' injury report. "I just want to go out there and just see how I feel," McCoy said. "Go out there Sunday and see what I can do. I look forward to playing." McCoy suffered a Grade 2 hamstring pull in Week 3 and was told it would be a three-to-four week injury. After telling reporters he wouldn't return until he was 100 percent, McCoy declined to put a percentage on his health Friday but believes the Bills' banged-up offense needs him to play Sunday. "Just how the season has gone, we need http://www.chargersshopnfl.com/Authentic-Patrick-Robinson-Jersey this win. It's a big one," he said. "A lot of guys are banged up. Maybe get a big win here, get one more. Go into the bye week and have some time to get healthy. Full week of no running and just treatments. So that's the mindset. Hurt or not, we need this win. So I'm out there for my teammates." The Bills (3-2) have yet to name a starting quarterback for the game. Tyrod Taylor (knee) is questionable after being limited in practice this week; EJ Manuel would start in Taylor's place if he can't play against the 5-0 Bengals. "I think he wants to go, there's no doubt about that. But we'll see. He's feeling a lot better," coach Rex Ryan said, adding that Taylor will be a game-time decision. The Bills also listed receivers Sammy Robert Turbin Authentic Jersey Watkins (calf) and Percy Harvin (hip) as questionable for the game. Harvin practiced fully Thursday, and the Bills were initially going to list him as probable for Sunday's game, but Harvin practiced on a limited basis Friday. Asked whether Harvin suffered a setback http://www.seahawksofficialnflonline.com/WOMENS_YOUTH_ROBERT_TURBIN_JERSEY.html in Friday's practice, Ryan responded, "I have no idea." Watkins said this week that he wants to play through his injury, even it means aggravating it.
J.J. Watt jersey has pounded the Jaguars and QB Blake Bortles
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- J.J. Watt has feasted Will Blackmon Womens Jersey on the Jacksonville Jaguars and quarterback Blake Bortles. Watt has recorded more sacks against the Jaguars in his career than all but one team he has faced and he has sacked Bortles six times in two meetings, which makes Bortles the second-most sacked QB of Watt’s career. That doesn’t bode well for Sunday’s matchup with Houston. Watt can line up anywhere, but he has spent the majority of the time this season lined up on the left side of the defensive formation. That means he’ll be going against rookie right guard A.J. Cann and right tackle Jermey Parnell, who is nursing a sore knee. "He’s definitely a guy you need to keep an eye on the entire game," left tackle Luke Joeckel said. "Last year we did some good things but he did make plays. We can’t give up the sacks that he got us against us [in 2014]. That’s one of the things we definitely need to fix." Watt has 11.5 sacks in eight games against the Jaguars, which is a half sack shy of the 12 he has in eight meetings with Tennessee. He also has sacked Bortles six times, all last season. The only quarterback Watt has sacked more times is Andrew Luck (8.0) -- but that total is over six games. The Jaguars actually felt like they did a Anthony McCoy Authentic Jersey good job against Watt in 2014, and they did at times. The player that had the most success against Watt was right guard Brandon Linder, who was the Jaguars’ best offensive lineman as a rookie. Linder is out for the season with a torn labrum in his shoulder, so if Watt lines up on the left side of the defensive formation he’ll be facing Cann and Parnell, who didn’t practice on Wednesday because of a sore knee. "I’m doing a lot of different things," Watt said. "You never know where I’m going to come from. I might be coming from one place, another place. That’s part of the fun of this defense is you never know where I’m coming from." Logically, though, you’d expect the Texans and Watt to attack Cann, the Jaguars’ third-round pick, as much as possible. Cann, who made his second career start last week against Tampa Bay, is eager for the challenge. "He’s a really good player and I look http://www.nfl49ersofficialauthentic.com/Navorro-Bowman-Jersey forward to playing against him," Cann said. "It’s going to be great competition. From watching film he’s very good with his hands and very good with eluding the pass blocker, so I just look forward to trying to get my hands on him early and seeing what I can do with him." Cann admitted that he has had a “whoa” moment where he realized he was going to be facing a player he’s watched on TV, but said it quickly passed. "It was the same way last week with Gerald McCoy," Cann said. "It’s the same way this week. I see him and I’m like, ‘Man, I’m going against probably the defender in the NFL.’ It’s going to be a challenge and I look forward to it."
Sammy Watkins to Bills jersey: 'You're making me look bad'
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins Jed Collins Youth Jersey is upset with his lack of targets, telling The Buffalo News this week that he and his agent told the team that they were making him "look bad" after the Bills selected him fourth overall in 2014. "I need the ball at least 10 times -- I need 10 targets -- and l'll be fine with however many yards I get," Watkins told the newspaper. "And that's what I addressed in talking with my agent. We reached out to a couple people and tried to pull some string like, 'Hey, I need my targets. You came up to draft me and I'm not getting targets -- that's a problem.' "'You're making me look bad, and you're making yourself look bad. Why not make both of us look good?'" Watkins has been sidelined since suffering http://www.nflcowboysofficial.com/Authentic-Jed-Collins-Jersey a calf injury in the first quarter of the Bills' Sept. 27 win over the Miami Dolphins. It's the sixth time the former Clemson star has been injured since the Bills traded the No. 9 overall pick in 2014 and their 2015 first-round pick to the Cleveland Browns to move up five spots to select Watkins, though this is the first time he has missed regular-season action. Watkins told reporters Wednesday that he wants to play Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals, even if it means reinjuring his calf. But coach Rex Ryan reiterated Thursday that it's not Watkins' decision to make. In the two games before Watkins' injury, quarterback Tyrod Taylor targeted him 10 times, tied with Percy Harvin and Charles Clay as the most on the team. Watkins, however, wants more looks. "For a guy you go up in the draft to take as your No. 1 receiver, you would love those 15 targets that Julio [Jones] gets, those 20 targets that Odell [Beckham Jr.] gets," he told the newspaper. "Of course I'd have 100 yards every game and a TD, if I'm getting 20 targets." With EJ Manuel and then Kyle Orton Emmanuel Sanders Youth Jersey throwing him passes last season, Watkins finished his rookie campaign with 65 catches for 982 yards and six touchdowns, shy of the production by Beckham (91 catches for 1,305 yards), who appeared in 12 games. "Everybody looks at you getting zero catches, zero yards, but when you look on film, 90 percent of the time you're open," Watkins told the newspaper. "I understand that these guys are young and they need some time to trust me. Once we get that trust, it'll be different." Added Watkins: "That's what I get http://www.officialbroncosnflauthentic.com/WOMENS_YOUTH_EMMANUEL_SANDERS_JERSEY.html mad at: when I don't get looked at. I can look at film, and his eyes go straight that way and I'm not getting looked at, at all. That's when I get frustrated. When I have one-on-one coverage, go to me. I don't care what's going on over there. I don't care if he's open. When I get one-on-one, just target me."
Adrian Peterson jersey claims LeBron James: Call me MJ
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles won't Eddie Goldman Kids Jersey get to decide Sunday the issue of which player is the genuine LeBron James of the NFL, the one opposing defenses have to put all their resources into stopping. That being the case, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson took the high road when asked to settle the debate, perhaps in deference to his injured Kansas City Chiefs counterpart. "I'll say I'm the Michael Jordan,'' Peterson said on a conference call with Kansas City area media. "There's always the debate, would LeBron be better than Michael? So I'll say I'm the Michael Jordan of football.'' The Chiefs and Vikings meet on Sunday in http://www.bearsofficialnflprostore.com/Authentic-Eddie-Goldman-Jersey Minneapolis, but Charles won't be taking part. He tore the ACL in his right knee in last week's game against the Chicago Bears and this week was placed on the injured reserve list, ending his season. Charles and Peterson waged a friendly war of words this summer with each claiming he was the LeBron James of the NFL. Other than to say he was Jordan to Charles' James, Peterson on Tuesday was in no mood to taunt his fallen counterpart. "It hurt me to the core to see my guy go down and in the opposite leg as well,'' Peterson said, referring to the torn left ACL Charles suffered in 2011. "Knowing Jamaal, he'll bounce back. I hated to see him go down like that. He's been through it before with the left knee and he kind of knows what to expect during this rehab and recovering from it. That's one positive. "He has so much talent. He's one of those Melvin Gordon Womens Jersey guys that has that God-given ability. I think if he just has his mind right mentally and puts the work in, he'll be just fine.'' Charles returned in 2012 to have his best NFL season, rushing for a career-high 1,509 yards. Peterson indicated he has yet to contact Charles, but planned to do so. "What I want to do is kind of sit back because I know his phone is blowing up because I know how it was when I had mine,'' said Peterson, who tore his ACL later in that 2011 season. "I want to catch him when he's kind of down and ... his mind is kind of adjusting to everything that's happened and talk to him then.
Patriots jersey left tackle Nate Solder placed on injured reserve
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots placed Greg Hardy Womens Jersey starting left tackle Nate Solder on injured reserve with a torn biceps Wednesday, ending his season. Solder was injured late in the second quarter of Sunday's 30-6 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, taking himself off the field after Tyrone Crawford registered an 8-yard sack of quarterback Tom Brady. Solder had jumped into the air after Crawford rushed past him, as his right arm appeared to be extended in a compromising position. This is the first major injury for Solder since he joined the Patriots as a first-round draft choice in 2011. He has played in every game but one over that span. The only Patriots player (offensive or defensive) who has played more snaps than Solder since that 2011 season (4,242) is Brady (4,648). Five-year veteran Marcus Cannon is http://www.nflcowboysofficial.com/Authentic-Greg-Hardy-Jersey the Patriots' top backup, as he replaced Solder on Sunday and was lauded afterward by coach Bill Belichick for his performance, as well as during his weekly news conference Wednesday. "Marcus has always played well for us," Belichick said. "Two years ago when he was in for (right tackle Sebastian) Vollmer, last year the opportunities that he had early in the year, particularly at tackle, and then this year he's played in every game, played a number of snaps in all of our games, so he's always done a good job for us when he's been in there. I'm glad we have him." The Patriots also could consider flipping veteran Vollmer to the left side and inserting Cannon at right tackle. The Patriots have two offensive tackles on Danny Shelton Womens Jersey the practice squad, Blaine Clausell and Cameron Fleming, in addition to interior offensive lineman Chris Barker. One of those players could be in line for a promotion to the 53-man roster to account for depth. The reported Solder loss is a significant one for the Patriots, who watched Brady get sacked five times in the first half of Sunday's win against Dallas. No New England offensive line combination http://www.nflbrownsofficialshop.com/Authentic-Danny-Shelton-Jersey has played more than 25 percent of the team's offensive snaps together this season. Some 44 percent of the Patriots' offensive line snaps have been by rookies, the most in the NFL. The Patriots also have used 11 offensive line combinations this year, tied for most in the NFL.
